Anritsu’s Field Master Pro MS2090A is a real-time spectrum analyzer. It offers performance that was not available before in a small, handheld device.
The Field Master Pro MS2090A covers frequencies from 9 kHz to 54 GHz. The design handles many wireless technologies. These include 5G, LTE, wireless backhaul, aerospace and defense, satellite systems, and radar.
The Field Master Pro MS2090A offers top RF performance in a handheld, touchscreen spectrum analyzer. It has a displayed average noise level (DANL) of -164 dBm and a typical Third Order Intercept (TOI) of +20 dBm.
This makes measurements such as spectrum clearing, radio alignment, harmonic, and distortion even more accurate than previously possible. For measuring modulation on digital systems, a 110 MHz bandwidth and low phase noise improve precision. The typical amplitude accuracy of ±0.5 dB gives confidence when testing transmitter power and spurious signals.

Ruggedized for field use, all versions offer many features. These features help speed up and simplify measurement. They also make the devices easier to use.
RTSA covers frequencies from 22 MHz to 110 MHz, depending on the option chosen. This allows for monitoring cellular interference and analyzing signals in the full ISM band.
All versions are full span swept tuned spectrum analyzers. They also have a spectrogram display. This display helps monitor the RF spectrum for any intermittent or interfering signals.
Integrated channel power and occupied bandwidth measurements simplify the measuring and characterizing of standard radio transmissions. The addition of the S331P Site Master supports cable and antenna line sweep measurements. Capturing IQ data from 5G frames allows you to save this data for later use on a PC. You can then analyze it using standard data analytical tools.
Applications
The Field Master Pro MS2090A is a handheld RF spectrum analyzer. It offers top performance for field engineers and technicians. This device provides measurement accuracy that was once only found in benchtop instruments.
- Interference hunting and spectrum clearing use fast sweep speeds. A low distortion front-end and a Real Time spectrum analyzer work together. They quickly find interfering signals. A special interference finder option adds AM/FM demodulation. It provides audio output and helps locate interference sources on a digital map. This feature helps pinpoint and identify the location of interference.
- Broadcast transmitter analysis includes many transmitter measurements. These measurements cover AM/FM modulation quality, harmonic levels, spurious signals, occupied bandwidth, channel power, and adjacent channel power. This analysis ensures that the transmitters meet regulatory requirements.
- Microwave radio links can operate at frequencies up to 54 GHz. They have great sensitivity for dish alignment. During installation or maintenance, you can check power and modulation bandwidth. This is done using a waveguide horn antenna.
- Satellite system monitoring – ideal for monitoring downlink signals to search for interference and noise
- Pulse Radar Measurements – The wide bandwidth of the MS2090A enables detailed analyzing of pulsed radar signals. In zero span, you can set the resolution bandwidth up to 40 MHz, depending on the option. This allows for a sweep time as low as 60 ns and measures pulse amplitudes as narrow as 20 ns.
- LTE and 5G coverage mapping shows the signal strength of 5G transmitters in a specific area. It does this by measuring RF data continuously. This data includes 5G channel power, EIRP, and RSRP. The digital map or building floor plan displays the results.
- Cable and Antenna measurements – Line sweep RF cables and antennas at base station locations with accessory S331P Site Master
