Olympus SC100 10.5 Megapixel Microscope offers unsurpassed lateral resolution without compromising sensitivity requirements and allows samples to be investigated in minute detail, particularly when using a low magnification objective.
Olympus SC100 10.5 Megapixel Microscope digital colour camera for high quality brightfield imaging, especially where optimal colour reproduction and superior resolution are required.
The SC100 offers properties and features as required by today’s standard-level light microscopy and digital documentation, like:
• High resolution
• Fast frame rates
• Sensitivity
• Good signal-to-noise ratio
• Broad dynamic range
• Easy to install to C-mount adapter
• Smart design
• Optimal cost/performance ratio
• low power consumption
The Chip
The 10.5-megapixel CMOS chip with 3,840 x 2,748 pixels used in the SC100 is digitized with a 12-bit resolution. Only the upper 8 bits are taken to provide low-noise 24-bit color images. The exposure time at full resolution can be varied between 340 μs and 14.6 s, while 117 μs to 6.8 s is possible at 2x binning. With a pixel size of 1.67 μm x 1.67 μm the SC100 offers a digital resolution which is able to keep up with the optical resolution of the best lenses in the Olympus’ range of objectives.
Frame Rates
The SC100 supports its native full frame and two different binning modes: 2x and 4x. At full resolution, the SC100 provides a live frame of 3.2 fps, which increases to 12 fps at 2x binning and 42 fps at 4x binning mode.
